FOOTBALL TRAVEL AND ACCOMMODATION
Football fans are most likely to need travel and accommodation for away matches in the Premiership and Football league, along with the FA Cup. More elaborate arrangements are likely to be required for those wishing to attend the Champions League Final (Luzhniki, Moscow, 21st May 2008) and Euro 2008 (Austria and Switzerland, June 2008).

ACCOMMODATION
An excellent method of finding appropriate accommodation close to football grounds is to use a website called "laterooms.com." The site includes UK and European destinations. Using the FA Cup Final as an example, the site suggests many hotels close to Wembley, with prices from £50 per night.

TICKETS AND FLIGHTS
Much of the hassle of booking tickets and flights can be removed by taking advantage of the football "tours" offered by numerous online sites. Whilst these can be slightly more expensive than booking your own tickets and flights, a match ticket is guaranteed, along with flights at appropriate times. Some sites also offer packages which include accommodation.

POPULAR FOOTBALL DESTINATIONS
The most popular football destinations in coming months are likely to be Moscow (Champions League Final), Wembley (FA Cup Final, 17th May 2008) and Austria / Switzerland (Euro 2008).

WEATHER
When travelling abroad for football, it is wise to check on the prevailing weather conditions. The following looks at the likely weather scenarios for forthcoming football events.

Moscow
In summer an average temperature is about 18˚C, though warmer temperatures with daytime highs near 90˚C are possible.

Austria
Summers are generally warm and pleasant with cool nights. The weather is changeable throughout the year, with heavy summer rain.

Switzerland
Swiss weather is rarely extreme. Temperatures in summer can climb to the 30°C.

GETTING AROUND

Moscow
Moscow public transport is inexpensive, consisting of the metro, buses trams and taxis. The metro is a particularly popular, convenient method of travel, with very cheap tickets.

Austria
Austria has one of the best public transport systems in Europe. A network of bus and tram routes combines with an underground (subway) system that is still being developed.

Switzerland
Public transport in Switzerland is also first class. Trains are very clean, a leave exactly on time. Trams and buses are popular and cheap but taxis are expensive.

BOOKING IN ADVANCE
For anyone contemplating travelling to a football match, pre-booking of tickets, travel and accommodation is imperative, to avoid disappointment. For high-profile matches, tickets sell out quickly, flights are often overbooked and hotels can be difficult to find. If you put all the arrangements in place as early as possible, it leaves you free to enjoy your FA Cup, Euro 2008 and Football Premiership Betting at your leisure.
